Five Independent School League teams appear in On3's latest Massachusetts football rankings. Two of them are this week's biggest ISL stories.

BB&N's statement win

BB&N beat Avon Old Farms 45-35 on Oct. 3, according to the ISL's scoreboard. Avon Old Farms finished last season as Connecticut's top-ranked team, per On3. The win moved BB&N to No. 5 in On3's Massachusetts Top 25 for Oct. 5. That ranking uses Massey Ratings and compares MIAA and prep schools on one list.

On3 lists BB&N at 2-0 and names two 2028 three-star prospects on the roster: athlete Owen DeSalvo and defensive lineman Xzavier Chafin.

Next for the Knights is undefeated Lawrence Academy (3-0), which beat St. George's 27-7 on Oct. 3 and sits at No. 21 in On3's rankings. Later this month, BB&N plays at Milton Academy on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m., per BB&N's athletics schedule.

Tabor's cross-country trip

Tabor Academy is 2-1 and No. 4 in On3's state rankings after beating Milton Academy 28-14 on Oct. 3. On3 reports that the Seawolves will travel to El Dorado Hills, Calif., on Oct. 9 to play Oak Ridge, which went 9-4 last season.

Tabor's quarterback, Peter Bourque, is a Virginia Tech commit, per On3. The Boston Globe reported in August that Bourque had flipped his commitment from Michigan to Virginia Tech.
